In collaboration with Sogema SPA, we launched a highly impactful social project, organizing five themed lessons dedicated to bees and biodiversity. The goal was to raise awareness among young generations about the crucial importance of these insects for our ecosystem.
This unforgettable experience involved over 200 students from primary schools in Fagnano Olona, taking them on a fascinating journey into the heart of a beehive. Thanks to our partnership with Apincittà, the beekeepers of this association played the role of exceptional storytellers, revealing the secrets of a mysterious and fascinating world: that of pollinators.
In the classrooms, an atmosphere of excitement welcomed the expert beekeepers, who, with simple and passionate words, unveiled to the young students the mysteries of these tireless workers. The lessons were enriched with practical demonstrations and direct observation of beekeeping equipment, culminating in the wonderful experience of seeing the bees inside an educational hive. The students had the chance to admire the golden honeycombs, smell the intense fragrance of the wax, and taste the sweet nectar collected by the bees. This sensory experience surely sparked their curiosity, bringing them closer to nature in a deep and engaging way.
But the project didn’t just offer a sensory journey. The beekeepers explained the fundamental importance of bees for our ecosystem, emphasizing how, by flying from flower to flower, these insects play a crucial role in plant reproduction and the production of fruits and vegetables. A clear and vital message emerged: protecting bees means protecting life on Earth.
To make the experience even more interactive, we organized a fun quiz, which the children participated in with great enthusiasm and preparation. Each student was awarded a bee-themed pencil and a packet of “bee-friendly” seeds to create a biodiversity oasis in their home garden or even in their school garden!
In conclusion, thanks to this project, the young students of Fagnano Olona have developed a deep respect for nature and a greater awareness of their role as guardians of the environment. Bees, once simply seen as insects, are now, for them, true superheroes capable of performing extraordinary actions for our survival.
This initiative was a tremendous success thanks to the synergy between Beeing, Sogema SPA, and our beekeeping partner Apincittà. Each partner contributed significantly, demonstrating how collaboration between the public and private sectors can generate projects of high educational and social value.
