Corporate Sustainability Pills: TTY Creo, a company that makes a difference

In an increasingly environmentally and socially responsible world, many companies are seeking to integrate sustainable practices into their business models. TTY Creo, a leader in the Insurtech sector, is no exception. Let’s find out how this company is working to reduce its environmental impact and promote sustainable development with a guest of excellence: Ilaria Devoto, Head of People & Culture at TTY Creo.

Who are you and what role do you play in the company? What is TTY CREO all about?

Ilaria Devoto – Head of People & Culture. I am in charge of promoting a positive work environment, ensuring that the planning and implementation of daily activities support and ensure the well-being, growth and satisfaction of all colleagues.

What are your values, especially in the areas of environmental, social and economic sustainability? What positive impact do you want to make on your industry, the local area, and the community around you?

At TTY Creo, we strongly believe in the values of respect, inclusiveness, and involvement that create a work environment where everyone can achieve and contribute. We try, with small daily gestures, to act in respect of others and the environment by implementing strategies to reduce waste and promoting recycling, contributing to lower energy consumption and the use of recycled materials. In addition, for some years now we have been implementing smart working, which reduces travel and consequently the consumption of resources, thus contributing to greater sustainability.

What actions can a company like TTY CREO take in order to achieve its sustainability goals?

TTY Creo operates in the Insurtech sector and recognizes that there are still many opportunities to implement sustainable policies. We are aware of the social importance of organizations and their impact on the local area, so we have decided to enter into partnerships with local communities to promote sustainable initiatives and gather feedback on the practices adopted.

How did the partnership with Beeing come about? How did the idea of adopting a corporate beehive come about?

Involvement is one of the values we hold dear, and this year we decided to focus on creating moments of aggregation for charity. Our collaboration started thanks to some colleagues who were already familiar with your reality and proposed to adopt a beehive on behalf of our company. This proposal excited us and we started working on a concrete and measurable project to protect biodiversity. We chose a hive located close to our territory, so as to enhance the work of local beekeepers and also promote team building moments.

Was the project successful in engaging employees? Did it stimulate employees to take action to protect the environment?

Yes, the feedback was definitely positive and colleagues particularly appreciated the initiative. We find it useful to show the results of these sustainable actions, highlighting the positive impact being made on the environment and increasingly motivating the team.

What are your future plans to further expand or improve the project?

In addition to expanding and developing partnerships with local organizations that are already active, we would like to create training programs to raise awareness and educate employees and communities on environmental issues and sustainable practices, and promote practices that encourage reuse and recycling of materials, thereby reducing waste and resource use.

What is the key message you would like to convey to other companies or organizations wishing to undertake similar environmental sustainability initiatives? What are the key steps you would advise them to follow to be successful?

The Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda highlight the challenges that each of us, both as individuals and as organizations, will face in the near future. Therefore, the topic of sustainability must become increasingly important within companies. Projects of this kind must arise from the awareness and sensitivity of companies to these issues. It is crucial to avoid the phenomenon of emulation, in which people act just because “everyone else is doing it.” Once awareness is gained, it is important to proceed step by step, as each reality is unique and has its own needs. Even small steps can contribute, over time, to achieving the established goals; what matters is getting started!

TTY Creo invites us to reflect on our role as citizens and professionals. Each of us can contribute to building a more sustainable world, starting with our daily choices.

All companies, like TTY Creo, can play a key role in this process by inspiring and engaging local communities.
