YOUR BEES, YOUR HONEY

WATCH VIDEO

Chimney

It allows you to let bees out at flight height, thus avoiding having bees around the hive at human height and making the observation area safe.

Covers

They are transparent and allow you to protect the bees and observe the progress of the honey collection at the same time.

Honeycomb frames

The honey collection frames are the spaces where the bees will build wax cells to deposit honey. Extracting them is easy and safe! They offer you the right amount of honey each time, ready to taste and enjoy.

Honey harvesting system

It is the innovation heart of our b-box: just activate it with a simple pull of a lever to separate the honeycomb frames from the nest. When activated, the honeycombs will be isolated, leaving the bees in their nest. It will therefore be possible to extract honey in total safety and have it ready for you to consume.

Nest

Bees live in the area below – you can watch them work by removing the wooden panels positioned on the transparent walls.

Structure

The b-box wood is sustainable and 100% Made in Italy. A perfect combination of high quality and design.

First steps with the B-BOX

The B-BOX kit comes in 3 boxes and needs to be assembled.
The assembly is very simple, and we also provide a step by step video tutorial.

Since the parts are made out of wood, you should treat the material appropriately. It is important to use a natural water based sealer to not harm the bees – remember that the B-BOX is going to be a permanent house for your new guests! Once you have protected the hive with a sealer, you can paint the hive whatever color you like! Check out the different customizations at the bottom of this page!

The next step is deciding the right placement of the B-BOX. This is quite an important decision that will impact your bees' health.

Then it’s time to find a beekeeper who can provide you with a swarm of bees. Bees usually come on 4-5 frames, but if the colony is a bit bigger, that’s also okay, and they will accordingly come on more frames. The B-BOX can fit up to 10 Dadant or Langstroth frames.

To insert the swarm in the beehive is quite simple but it must be done wearing proper beekeeping clothes, since you will have to come into direct contact with the bees. If you have some knowledge of beekeeping, you can install it by yourself. Otherwise we recommend taking a small beekeeping course or relying on a local beekeeper to help you out.

When it comes to the honey production, it varies based on the surrounding environment and the season. Normally you can harvest 20-30kg of honey per season. In the most favorable conditions, the bees can produce up to 150 kg! It also depends on the size of your colony.

Our Happy Clients!

[These pictures] are exactly why we got a B-BOX. This is my son, David, and my grand-daughter, Zoë, being fascinated by the bees 🐝 (and being safe)

James & Susan

Our bees are doing fine. The original ten thousand are all dead by now. Bees only live five to six weeks. I am guessing that we now have about twice as many bees as we had in the hive end of April. The picture shows our bees coming to and from work.

The bees seem to love their new house. I do not have to do much, they are taking great care of themselves on their own.
